Heritage Lake…as I gazed out the window this morning there were two bald eagles sitting in the tree across the way and I watched one swoop down over the water to catch a fish. Then I looked out the other direction just a little later to see two swans swimming peacefully in the chilly water with the newly fallen snow in the background. The ducks were out as usual, diving down and bobbing up again. Then I got an email from my brother about the big catch he had out here on Thanksgiving. He said, “Here are some pictures from when my friend Bill and I fished Heritage Lake the day after Thanksgiving. Water temperature was 37 degrees. I caught 2 19″ bass (One 3 1/2 lbs, one 3 3/4 lbs). 3 of the pictures are of these 2 fish. Also caught 8 other bass. most were 14-16″ Earlier we were catching white bass in the deepest water in the lake (about 35 ft deep). One about 13″ is shown in a picture. I probably caught 25 or so of those, many 12″ or better before we started fishing for the largemouth bass.” You see, Heritage Lake has something for everyone, whether you sit and take in the views or actively fish for the big catch.
